Paying It Forward

We, as Christians, become saved by God’s Grace.(John 3:16)  But what happens after that?  We have a responsibility to pay it forward.  God’s blessings come to us in what seem like natural events.  The truth is that it is all planned out. (Matt 6:8)  He then expects us to bless others as He has blessed us. (Matt 28:19)

Consider Leviticus 27:30.  This is an order from the Lord to take that with which He has blessed us and give 10% back to those in greater need than ourselves.  Then He tasks us to test Him to see that He is just and keeps His promises to us regarding this matter. (Malachi 3: 8-10)  I make this point because nowhere else in God’s Word does He tell us to test Him.  Testing God outside the boundaries of the tithe may result in disastrous consequences as it questions our faith that God will be faithful to us.  The passage states: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Nowhere but here does the Lord command us to test Him.

Additionally, the Word says that if we take the first step and help others in need, we will receive more in return. (Matt 7:7-8) (Gal 6:9-10)

Here are just a few more scriptural examples instructing us as to how we should share God’s blessings to us with others:

1. Inspiration – As the Lord has blessed us to read and understand His Word, we should share it with all the world.  (Matt 28:19)

2. Kindness – As the Lord has been kind, gentle and generous in blessings to us, so should we be to each other. (Ephesians 4:32)

3. Good deeds – We should not hesitate to do good in God’s sight. (Matt 5:16)

4. Testimony – Share with others the inspirations and the harvest from your studies in God’s Word. (Acts:14:15) (2 Timothy 1:8) (1 Corinthians 2:1)

5. Gifts of the Spirit – We should all share the gifts which have been imparted to each of us. (Rom 12:6-8)
